Where it all began...now we're engaged!!!

It was destiny that brought us together...no other way to explain it. We both logged onto ldssingles.com around April 6th or so. By the 8th we had started to write each other and by the 11th we weren't writing anyone else. We both cancelled our "subscriptions" that same week. Online was the only way that we could have met each other. He was serving our country in Iraq and I was here in Salt Lake City.
We got to talk to each other for the first time on Sunday April 11th. We both felt like we had known each other forever...not like we had just met. We continued communicating multiple times each day via email, skype, and the phone. We corresponded with each other for 6 1/2 weeks until we FINALLY got to meet face to face when he came to Utah for a 2 week leave from the military.
He got home Sunday May 24th and I had my ring by Wednesday May 26th. The official proposal didn't come until Friday the 28th, however. He had ordered the ring online and it arrived Monday or Tuesday, I can't remember. He asked if I wanted to see what was in the box and I said I didn't...I had a hunch about what it was. I wanted a surprise. Wednesday he said he had an appointment with the bishop for his temple recommend. I sat patiently at his house with his mom waiting for him to get done...for 3 hours! Then I got a phone call with his confession...he'd been out to dinner with my parents. Asking them for permission to marry me. He couldn't keep the ring a secret any longer. He gave it to me that night.
His original plan was to take me to temple square on Thursday evening and propose to me in front of the temple. That got changed when we had to pick up his kids a day early in St. George (Thursday morning). It was nice to drive with him and talk to him on the way there. And it was fun to drive back getting to know the kids. He ended up proposing to me on Friday at the house in West Jordan as we went out the side door. He apologized that it wasn't as great as he'd planned. To me it doesn't matter in the slightest. We will be sealed in a few months and that is what is most important!!
In the two weeks he was here we had so much fun together. I still feel like I've known him forever, and the kids. Warren 7, Tyler 6, and Madilyn 3. They are so cute. We went to the zoo, camping, played at the house, went to his sister's wedding, lots of family activities. It felt like we were a family and we (I) enjoyed every minute of it.
Jacob went back to Iraq today though...so sad! It's been a long, sad day for me. Kind of depressing. However, I just have to remain positive. He'll be there until September 12-15 sometime and then he'll come back and we'll get married on September 25th!! Yay!! We are so excited!!
