Welch Family Wonderland!: Gabe's Birthday Bash...(Part I)

Fabulous homemade chocolate zucchini cake with cupcakes for the kids. The zucchini cake was amazing and the kids seemed to love the cupcakes and the cake.

Mommy made this cake just for Gabe's birthday (and to use up the zucchini from great grandma Bauer's garden).

The one in the middle is for baby Gabe! I had to dress the cupcakes up. They came with the small cake I ordered from Sam's club for the photo session yesterday, which, by the way, was the ugliest and most horribly decorated cake I have ever seen. I ordered green GRASS for a border and instead of a lush jungle green grass it was like pastel Easter grass...horrible!!! Anyway, I called to complain and they said there was nothing they could do. I had to add sprinkles to the sides of the main cake before Gabe's pics yesterday and add sprinkles, M&Ms, and cute jungle animals to the cupcakes for the next day. Quite frustrating! Won't be ordering from them ever again!!

Daddy held the cake while we sang to Gabe. He was interested in the flame, of course. By the way, he LOVES this little rocking chair at grandma's house.

He got mad when I took the cake away to the kitchen...cute little squeal!

Gabe's cute farm toy that we gave him...straight from Kid to Kid. He was there when we got it. He loved it there and still does!

Grandma and Grandpa Bauer, along with Emmalie and Kimberlie, gave him an outfit and two board books. Gabe LOVES books!

We gave him a little more...and he was DONE!! We had to take an extended time-out because he had to poop...yep, made that super concentrated look and his face turned red and then...then he cried!

A little on the fingers...and it bothered him. Beginning to wonder if he just doesn't like to get messy. It was similar at Fotofly. Just kept looking at his messy fingers.
